The journey

Seven stages, one process.

Every vehicle that COLOUR POT exports travels through the same seven stages — sourcing, inspection, procurement, export preparation, documentation, shipping, and delivery. Each stage has its own checks, its own documentation, and its own point of contact for the buyer.

This gallery walks through each stage in the order it happens, with a short write-up of what occurs at each point. Real case photographs will be added to each stage as we collect them — the placeholders below mark exactly where those images will appear.

  1. 01

    Sourcing

Finding the right vehicle through the South African dealer and trade network.

Every COLOUR POT engagement begins with a brief: the buyer's preferred make, model, year, specification, budget and destination. Our team then works the South African sourcing network — dealers, trade channels and fleet disposals — to identify vehicles that match. We don't present the first option we find; we present options we'd be comfortable recommending, with clear notes on what each vehicle offers and where it sits in the market.

  2. 02

    Inspection & Verification

Independent condition checks and documentation review before any commitment.

Before a buyer commits to a vehicle, we coordinate an independent inspection and verification. This includes a condition report covering exterior, interior, mechanical and structural elements, plus a review of the vehicle's documentation and history. Photographs and video are shared with the buyer so the decision to proceed is made with the vehicle clearly in view — not blind.

  3. 03

    Procurement & Securing

Negotiation, securing and finalising the purchase on the buyer's behalf.

Once the buyer approves a vehicle, we handle the procurement step on their behalf — negotiation, securing the vehicle and the practical work of moving the transaction from a selected option to a confirmed purchase. The buyer remains in control of every decision; we handle the work that's difficult to do remotely from another country.

  4. 04

    Export Preparation

Getting the vehicle ready for export — cleaning, mechanical checks, and staging.

With the vehicle secured, export preparation begins. The vehicle is cleaned, mechanically reviewed, and staged for the next step in the export chain. Any destination-specific requirements are confirmed at this stage — for example, fuel level rules, battery isolation, or removal of items that cannot travel. Preparation is the unglamorous stage that prevents problems at the port.

  5. 05

    Documentation

Export papers, deregistration, and destination-specific paperwork handled.

Cross-border vehicle export lives or dies on documentation. We coordinate the export papers, deregistration documents and any destination-specific paperwork required for the buyer's country. Every document is checked before the vehicle moves, and the buyer receives copies so they know exactly what's travelling with the vehicle and what's arriving ahead of it.

  6. 06

    Shipping & Logistics

RoRo or container shipping arranged toward the buyer's destination port.

With the vehicle ready and paperwork in order, we coordinate shipping — roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) or container, depending on the route, vehicle type and buyer preference. We share tracking information as the vehicle moves so the buyer knows where their vehicle is and when to expect the next update. Port-to-port coordination keeps the handoff clean.

  7. 07

    Delivery

Vehicle arrives at the destination port for the buyer to collect.

The final stage: the vehicle arrives at the buyer's destination port. From there, the buyer (or their clearing agent) takes over the final leg — customs clearance, registration and collection. We remain available throughout the shipping stage and on arrival to support with any documentation questions that come up at the destination end.

Where the journey ends

A vehicle delivered, a process closed.

When a vehicle arrives at the destination port and is collected by the buyer (or their clearing agent), the COLOUR POT journey is complete. Every document is in the buyer's hands, every update has been shared, and the vehicle that started as a brief on the other side of the world is now where it needs to be.

Real case photographs will replace the placeholders above as we collect them — each image will represent an actual vehicle that travelled through that stage of the process. Until then, the write-ups describe exactly what happens at each stage, so buyers know what to expect from working with COLOUR POT.
